Honesty is not a learned skill.
We are all born honest. Honesty is our default state. Our biology works in our favor when we speak the truth. Lying, however, is on the other end of the spectrum. It is a learned skill and a tough one to master. You have to have complete control over your mind and body. You have to override your biological & chemical mechanisms. You must rise above the reptile brain to lie effectively and navigate the world.
When you think of it, lying requires much more discipline and control.
But then the question arises: if you can muster all that self-control and mastery over yourself, why use all that self-control to lie?
