Honesty is not a learned skill.
We are all born honest. Honesty is our default state. Our biology works in our favour when we speak the truth. Lying, however, is on the other end of the spectrum. It is a learned skill and a tough one to master. You have to have complete control over your mind and body. You have to override your biological & chemical mechanism; you have to rise above the reptile brain to lie effectively and to navigate the world.
When you come to think of it, lying requires much more discipline and control.
But then the question arises if you can muster all that self-control and mastery over yourself, why use all of that self-control to lie?
Update as of October 14, 2021
I ended the blog with the following question: If you can muster all that self-control and mastery over yourself, why use all of that self-control to lie? Even though I wrote the blog post a month ago, this question has been on my mind since then.
I found an answer to that question today.
I stumbled upon this video which sort of answers my question. Now, is it the correct answer; I donโt know, but it is an answer nonetheless, and a powerful one at that, therefore worth sharing with you all
